This variant is currently sold out.
Available in 38 beautiful shades and 5 prints, our luxurious recycled sari silk ribbon adds sheen and dimensionality to your fiber work as the light reflects off of it. Slightly more weighty than the silk chiffon ribbon and opaque in nature, this fiber is silky to the touch and very malleable. The versatility of sari silk is unparalleled. It has a surprising resilience and can be use for weaving, crocheting and knitting rugs and home goods as well as incorporated into weavings and macrame.
This recycled sari silk ribbon is fair trade, ethically sourced from India, and hand dyed in small batches. Each dye lot may differ slightly so please be sure to purchase enough for each project.
A note about recycled fabric: There are extra textures, folds and frays in this fiber, and occasional moments of a slightly irregular base color. Flecks of metallic fiber may be evident in some parts. The ribbon is not always one continuous length and may have sewn ends as these pieces are remnant cut-offs being given new purpose.
Each skein is approximately 100 grams; 10 m in length.
2-3 cm wide, though this varies throughout due to the recycled nature of the fiber.
